Terms & Conditions for the supply of goods 'Goods' refers to jewellery in 18kt gold, using semi-precious and precious gemstones.
Making a purchase
We accept most major credit cards. All credit card purchases must be directed to the cardholders address. We must receive payment in full for the full price quoted on the items at checkout before an order can be accepted. Once we have been notified of receipt of payment, we will email the customer with confirmation of order on the email address provided. Once we've confirmed and accepted your order, a legally binding contract is entered into between us and the customer. All of our prices are given in ZAR.
Packaging and Delivery
All of our jewellery comes with a Verus jewellery pouch and box. It is delivered using a fully insured secure service up to point of delivery. All orders will require a signature on delivery.
Majority of orders are dispatched using our personal couriers, next day service. Deliveries within all South African major cities will incur a standard R100 delivery charge, deliveries will either be by personal Verus employees or dispatched by RAM courier. For all other South African cities, a surcharge may be charged and are dispatched using RAM couriers, 48 hour service.
Items purchased from will only be delivered to locations within South Africa. Alternatively clients may collect orders for free directly from JHB workshop or CT workshop. Orders manufactured in JHB and collected at CT workshop will incur a minimum 10 day turnaround time.
If an order is returned to us due to the postal or courier service not being able to complete the delivery for any reason, the customer will be responsible for the secondary delivery costs.
All items are made to order excluding the 18k red gold disk & the 18k red gold drop bar, which are in stock. Made to order items take 10 working days to manufacture, dispatch is then processed the following day. The red gold disk and the red gold drop bar will be dispatched the day after order is processed. Between Christmas and the New-Year, any order placed will be delayed in production until the New-Year as the workshop is closed over this time.
Customers are advised to please inspect their purchases on receipt, before removing any tags or disposing of any packaging, and to please inform us of any breakages or defects via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) within 24 hours of receipt of the items. Faulty items will only be accepted by us if the items were delivered to the customer damaged, or if a manufacturing fault arises within 4 months of receipt. The faulty/damaged items will be inspected and assessed at the workshop where an outcome will be decided on, taking fair wear and tear into account. After assessment, items may be repaired where repair is possible. We take the upmost care to package our shipments and make sure that our jewellery is in the best condition possible.
Any items of jewellery ordered from our website can be returned unworn and in its original packaging, accompanied by completed returns form, within 7 calendar days of receipt for a full refund.
We will not accept returns on any items of jewellery that have been worn, have had their security tags removed, or are not in their original packaging.
Within South Africa, all jewellery must be returned via South African Courier Ram, at the expense of the customer. We will not accept responsibility for the non-arrival of returned items that were sent by any means other than those stated above.
Refunds for the value of the item returned only will be credited to the customer’s credit card within 48hrs of receipt of the returned items in its original condition and packaging.
In the instance that a ring is ordered in the incorrect size, re-sizing the ring will incur a charge and in some instances, due to the type of setting and stone used, we cannot guarantee that the ring can be re-sized.
We do offer a service for items of Verus Fine Jewellery to be professionally cleaned, re-serviced or where possible repaired at a charge, all work is undertaken at our JHB workshop. Please contact us directly for assessment and a quote on charges involved.
Cancellation by us
We reserve the right to cancel a transaction between ourselves and the customer for the following reasons:
- Due to the limited amount of raw materials we use, we may have insufficient stock to make an ordered item
- One or more of the items the customer ordered was listed with an incorrect price due to a typing error
If we do cancel an order, the customer will be notified by email or telephone, and the customer’s credit card will be re-credited as soon as possible. We will not be obliged to offer any additional compensation for disappointment suffered.
If the items that you receive from us are not what you ordered or are damaged, we shall not have any liability to you the customer unless you notify us of the problem by email (email@example.com) within 7 working days of receipt of the items in question.
On confirmation of the delivery date from us, if you don't receive the items you ordered from us within this time frame (usually 14 working days) from placing the order, we shall have no liability to you unless you notify us by email or telephone of the problem. This must happen within 7 working days from the date of expected receipt of delivery as confirmed by us. If you notify us of the issue under this condition, we will be obliged to either:
- make good any shortage or non-delivery
- replace any damaged or defective items
- refund to you the amount paid by you for the items in question.
We will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of items purchased from us once the tags have been removed and the items have been worn.
We cannot be held responsible for any delays in delivery once the items have left us and are in possession of Ram.
We reserve the right to alter our terms and conditions without notice. Following these changes, the customers continued use of the website will act as their acceptance of these changes. It's the customer’s responsibility to check on any changes to our terms and conditions.
Conflict Free Diamonds
All diamonds used in Verus Fine Jewellery have been purchased from legitimate sources, not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. we here by gaurantee that these diamonds are conflict free, based upon personal knowledge and/or a written guarantee provided by the supplier of these diamonds.
